Molise, Italy’s authentic pearl suspended between the Adriatic sea and the Apennine mountains, land where colours, strong Southern tastes, and the discreet charm of Central Italy meet, has been saved (for it's luck) from aggressive mass tourism. And today, travellers can still enjoy a myriad of unspoiled corners. All year round.
So what are Molise’s strengths? “Food and wine, Molise’s touristic routes suitable for any season, because Molise has a rich variety of products, such as oil, wine, and truffles. Every season has something special. For example, in spring the must-attend event is Le Carresi, the race of wagons decorated with flowers, which is part of our tradition. A small yet great region that has a lot to offer”.
“For Molise, Bit, the International Tourism Exchange, is a national and international stage that cannot be missed. Molise participates in Bit to draw interest to our region. – commented Remo Di Giandomenico, President of the Eastern Molise District and Special Commissioner for Azienda Autonoma Soggiorno e Turismo of Termoli. – For our professional operators, this will be an opportunity to learn about the next-generation marketing systems. It’s an event in which we can showcase Molise’s culture, food and wine, and the touristic routs throughout the four seasons, as Molise is rich in products, such as oil, wine, and truffles. Every season has something special. For example, in spring the must-attend event is Le Carresi, the race of wagons decorated with flowers, which is part of our tradition.A small yet great region that has a lot to offer”.
In Molise, food and wine have been shaped through the routes of transhumance along the tratturi. Our cuisine is typical of Central Italy enriched with some accents from Naples, the Abruzzi, and Apulia. From sausages to caciotta cheese, ending up with the fusilli alla Molisana made with sausages, veal, lard, and pecorino cheese. All these specialties can be enjoyed especially during the many traditional events, such as Le Carresi. A heritage that deserves to be known better. That’s why the Molise Region is going to attend the most important Italian Touristic marketplace, i.e., Bit 2018.
