ITALIAN SENATE: ROME: JULY, 7 2022
At a time like this, which sees totalitarianism and undemocratic or transparent countries in order expansive, albeit in different forms (economically, culturally, politically, in the media, etc.), only Culture and the greater knowledge of other cultural values - like this different, but with very common traits – can not only contribute positively to Peace and harmonious prosperity between peoples and countries but also offer a common value basis to resist to the seductions of the many personalism and radicalisms that have come back, at least apparently, even into fashion in Europe and the United States.
In line with this thought, on Thursday 7 July a conference dedicated to cultural diplomacy between Italy and the Americas, strongly desired by Senator Pier Ferdinando Casini - who has always been a promoter of culture as an engine of dialogue, harmony and wealth for peoples and nations - The event was led by Roberto Masiero, Founder and President of the American and non-partisan think tank Renaissance Evolution.
To converge towards the sunny streets of the center of Rome, some illustrious guests including the Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini, Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, the Italian Ambassador to Santo Domingo Stefano Queirolo Palmas, the Secretary General of the Italian International Organization Latin American Antonella Cavallari and geopolitical expert Michele Pavan.
Opening the event, the artists Vincenzo Bocciarelli and Ida Vinella performed in an invocation to a new social and cultural renaissance. I wish, this, which also represents the mission of the made in the USA think tank and its president Roberto Masiero.
The subsequent interventions, while expressing different points of view (as easy to expect, seeing the high profile of successive speakers) have nonetheless found a fruitful convergence in the value of the culturally distinctive features of our country and on elements that share geographically distant realities such as Italy, the United States, Central, and South America, however, united by many aspects, such as respect for freedom, the positive tension towards dialogue and cultural debate as tools for overcoming critical issues and divergences, research of the spiritual and of values, and also through political, social, and economic activity.
The contribution is interesting – openly partisan in its origins, but based on values and inclusive in its form and substance, by the American Tim Phillips, a political analyst already an expert protagonist to the more conservative republican area, who arrived at the conference, together with other guests from overseas, at the invitation of Renaissance Evolution.
Monsignor Vincenzo Paglia intervenes from the Vatican, as president of the Pontifical Academy for Life, confirms the strong sensitivity towards the critical themes of our time, such as that of a kind and respectful dialogue between cultures, a theme taken up by practically all the speakers and on which possible to establish gems for a fruitful and fruitful dialogue.
