I Maestri del Paesaggio-International Meeting of the Landscape and Garden

Alice Willi By Alice Willi | July 28, 2013 | United States

is a quality event which holds its place among the most important national and International landscaping events.

Other than the two day long Meeting with some of the most famous Landscape Architects and Garden Designers, the event also offers Workshops, Seminars, Landscape Aperitifs and other events where one may talk to and exchange ideas with guests of international excellence.

Cultural and food&wine events, exhibitions and competitions are to be held over two creative weeks to promote, publicise and appreciate both the natural environment and that changed by human intervention.

One of the main objectives is to promote sustainable development by evaluating the potential of our territories with respect to many different disciplines, from landscape architecture to environmental protection and the protection of the natural environment, from creativity to art… hoping to reach as many people as possible, from professionals to ordinary citizens, both young and old.

From Saturday 7 to Sunday 22 September, Piazza Vecchia will become a magical garden once more with a new and original project. “Piazza Verde” is to become an open air living room, the centre of Meetings and Events, a sort of calling card for the press and spokesperson for the values and messages of culture, art and sustainability.

The event itself will be preceded by a “Roadshow” at a number of Italian locations which will help to spread the word!

Among the objectives this year are to:

  • to build on the photography competition under the direction of Lello Piazza in collaboration with Gardenia and Bell’Italia
  • to develop food&wine events in collaboration with Il Venerdì published by “La Repubblica” newspaper
  • to increase the number of seminars held by partnering companies and magazines
  • to release the book “I Maestri del Paesaggio – Volume 1” published by Wolters Kluwer
  • to hold competitions and international events
  • to have greater involvement from universities and national gardening schools
  • to organise meetings on environmental themes while the Piazza is being built.
