All the top brands have confirmed their participation, ready with international previews of bikes for 2014, which can be test-ridden in the outside area. Over 1000 exhibitors from 35 countries with four delegations from China, Taiwan, USA and Great Britain. After a few years’ absence, the historic Winter Rose motorcycle meet is back, bringing motorcyclists to the fair on Sunday 10. The new match-making platform, free to all exhibitors, will allow sourcing of sector professionals and the arrangement of contact and/or sales meetings.
EICMA will host the ninth MotoLive, an outdoor arena that is a venue for spectacular shows and races, all of an international calibre. The cherry on the cake this year is coronation of the “King” of the SX European Championship, a title that depends on just one race. Plenty of other disciplines with breath-taking challenges: International Quad MX, the final of the International Italian SX Championship and Eicma International Supermoto. This year again sees charity initiatives in the limelight. After EICMA FOR SIC # 58 at the last edition, this time we have EICMA FOR Riders4Riders, a non-profit organisation that raises money to help seriously injured bikers and funds research into treatment for spinal lesions.
The customisation section at the show – EICMA Custom – meanwhile aims to provide international visibility for an artisan sector that invents, produces and builds new shapes and styles, bringing motorcycles closer to art, culture and fashion. The International Custom Bike Show has been confirmed, as has Artists’ Island. New entries include the Lady Custom Bike Contest, entirely dedicated to the fairer sex.
Space also for sustainable mobility, with the fifth edition of The Green Planet, and safety, with Confindustria (the Confederation of Italian Industry) ANCMA reporting the state of the art in Italian infrastructures and cutting edge proposals by companies for two-wheel travel.
Visitors will have a whole series of services at their disposal: hotels offering special packages, Alitalia flights with dedicated discounts, a nursery (also open on the press and trade only days), with mini baby park for children under the age of 3 and a limited number of free motorcycle parking spaces.
