David Beckham is set to quit US football team LA Galaxy and may move to New York. The 37-year-old star, who has become more famous off the pitch than on it, is not expected to renew his one-year rolling contract with the club, which comes to an end on December 31 but he has no plans to retire from football.

Beckham are considering now a move to New York with their sons Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, ten, Cruz, seven and 16-month-old daughter Harper.

LosAngeles has given the family the outdoors lifestyle that they’ve loved for five years,  now the children are getting older and the couple both look to the future in their careers.’

Former Spice Girl Victoria is understood to have viewed properties and schools in Manhattan including the Convent of The Sacred Heart school for Harper.

The school overlooks Central Park and fees start at £23,221 a year. It boasts Caroline Kennedy, daughter of former President John F Kennedy, socialite Paris Hilton and Lady Gaga among its alumni.

Since moving to the US five years ago, Victoria has established herself as a designer and showcased her 2013 collection at New York Fashion week in September.

Last night their spokesman said: "Since David and Victoria landed in America there has been speculation they will leave, yet they still love living there. David’s sole focus at the moment is winning another Championship".

Victoria’s spokesman said: "Right now it’s business as usual and the family are happy here in LA".
