Many Immigrants from India, China and Taiwan have banded together in California, unified by a collective love for table tennis and the hope their children will embrace and excel in the Olympic sport.
MILPITAS, California
The table tennis club was built by Indian immigrants who made their fortunes in Silicon Valley. Its coaches were imported from around the world. And its star players were born to immigrant parents from both China and Taiwan.
This year the India Table Tennis Community Center will send three (teenagers) players to represent the United States in table tennis in the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
