Winning for the eighth time in his career, in Orlando, the tournament, organized by the legendary Arnold Palmer, that lasted until Monday due to the tornado that lashed the coast of Florida, Tiger Woods has regained the top spot in the world rankings. He won beating competitors more young (Fowler, Rose, Bradley, Brown Fernandez) who had profited from the crisis following his traumatic divorce to make their way down the list. He won, returning to produce the game of the best day (especially the impressive accuracy on the greens) while those who had been his rival in the golden age (Mickelson, Els, Furyk, Singh) had a low profile for a while. Missing, it is true, the new star, Northern Ireland's Rory Mc Ilroy that, against all odds, chose not to play this tournament, which is among the most important of the year. Mc Ilroy will be in the field in Texas, this week, where Woods will not be. Now the challenge between the two is launched and looming illuminated by the huge talent that unites the combatants.
