It opens the 29th edition of the International Book Fair in Miami !

The Miami Book Fair International takes place each November at the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College (located at 300 NE 2nd Avenue). This year's festival will be from Sunday November 11th through Sunday November 18th, 2012.

Eagerly awaited every year by all passionate readers, writers, educators, students and .. journalists ......this International Book Fair is one of most  interesting event in the cultural landscape.

Little History: Miami held its first book fair, called Books by the Bay, in 1984. The two-day street fair grown steadily each year and by the 1990s, the renamed Miami Book Fair International had become the largest literary festival in the country. The eight-day book party attracted hundreds of thousands of book lovers to downtown Miami every  November for a celebration of all things written and read.

Over the years, the Miami International Book Fair attended by writers from all over the world including the Nobel Prize, the Pulitzer Prize, National Book Award, Cervantes Prize, Pushcart Prize, O'Henry Award, National Magazine Award, the Commonwealth Prize, MacArthur Fellowship, and the Edgar Award.

This year:  the Miami Book Fair International  will open Sunday  November 11th with the popular Evenings With… series, featuring six nights of readings and discussions with noted authors from the United States and around the world,  eight-day a delicious literary party to cheer the month of November.

On Friday Nov 16, the Street Fair will begin and the highlight of the Street Fair will be the Festival of Authors, with more than 350 authors reading and discussing their work, including the Latin American and Spanish authors who participate in the IberoAmerican Authors Program.

Do not miss the weekend Street Fair in which more than 250 publishers and booksellers will exhibit and sell books with special features, like the antiquarians, who will exhibit signed first editions, original manuscripts and other collectibles.

Thousands of students in South Florida will be present at this great 29th edition of the International Book Fair, they will hear the authors and they will participate in the Alley for children, including theater, arts-and-crafts, storytelling and readings by authors of books for children.  Let's not forget the Comics and graphic novels once again present and very popular with young people and children (but adults as well!).  In fact, there will be the school of comics on Friday and a new section that will be dedicated only to children and young people, as well presentations during the weekend of famous novelists graphic artists and illustrators.

To find a panorama so vast and interesting activities and news all united under the same sky is something that is not to be missed!
